But I always manage to dig up a new goal that drives me forward... like beating my time, running longer, or even just running a new race in a new city! I just started my own blog, hopefully as I continue maybe you can find a little inspriation there? Dairy just does not agree with me, which makes sense when you think about what it is! Now that I've been running so much, I just eat what I want. No limiting. Thanks for looking out! I always appreciate your feedback!sbr4evrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09543902461392245002noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-216269608162329501.post-15604866268352147292013-09-08T19:26:08.512-07:002013-09-08T19:26:08.512-07:00And CONGRATS on the 18. It is obvious that you are continuing to eat grains and fueling properly for training. :) I have runner brains, I promptly forgot your pancakes upon reading that post. I need to eat dinner apparently! LOL.Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14610627483132195390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-216269608162329501.post-40433004245053423552013-09-08T19:20:39.931-07:002013-09-08T19:20:39.931-07:00I've got to say, I think limiting grain based ...I've got to say, I think limiting grain based carbs while training for an endurance event is really not a good idea. Carbs aren't the enemy and runners NEED them. Whenever I see a runner doing this I groan a bit inside. Focusing on healthy grains? Good deal! Banning all breads/tortillas/pastas? Really not a good idea.

However, I myself don't eat all whole grain. I eat white flour stuff moderately. This is due to how high in fiber my diet is (vegan = freaking tons of fiber, no matter what!). If I ate all whole grains, I'd be even more over the fiber recommendations than I currently am. And too much fiber can affect nutrient absorption. YMMV on that one.

Seriously though, grain based carbs are a runner's friend. No matter what the dieting/get skinny at all costs societal BS tries to tell us. Hooray on ditching dairy again, though! And good luck on sugar. I cannot do that without launching my ED into high gear again. I cannot do the "this food is bad/banned" thing at all. The veganism isn't related at all to my weight or health, just animals and social justice/ethics, so it doesn't do anything triggering to my ED. It just is how I eat. :)Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14610627483132195390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-216269608162329501.post-61012033439449317122013-08-05T12:21:44.761-07:002013-08-05T12:21:44.761-07:00Thanks, Stephanie! I sat down and left a BUTT PRINT on the bench. It was like I'd been swimming, not running. Just gross. At least it wasn't normal sweat? I swear, it was like pure water pouring off me! Haha. This 50K next weekend is going to be... interesting. Good job taking on the humid, hot days! They do suck! Just think how nice our Fall races will seem. :DMelissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14610627483132195390noreply@blogger.com
